Sussex Health Informatics Service (HIS) and United Lincolnshire Hospitals (ULH) NHS Trust both engaged Konsultancy carry out an Active Directory audit and a Group Policy audit.
Sussex HIS provides effective IM&T services to all NHS organisations across Sussex. These 10 NHS Trusts rely on Sussex HIS to not only carry out operational delivery of current IT services but also develop and implement new projects as technology evolves and business requirements change.
ULH NHS Trust is a large acute trust serving the Lincolnshire area. As each year passes, investment is made throughout the Trust including in the information and technology infrastructure. This year has seen a specific focus on security; most notably the securing of data through encryption technology.
While both NHS Entities are different, one providing IT services to other NHS Trusts while the other has its services provided in-house, their requirements from technology are very similar. With NHS IT projects seemingly forever receiving bad press, more and more NHS Trusts are working even harder to ensure they are taking full advantage of the technology they already have.
Both NHS Entities received an audit report detailing findings and, where appropriate, recommendations to help improve the Active Directory and Group Policy infrastructure. The benefits to both NHS Trusts include a clear audit report providing each with information specific to their environment while ensuring best practice is adhered to. This was provided with minimal input from staff and no changes to the environment to extract information to formulate the report.
